Big change coming for the F-150 Lightning. Ford stopped building the battery only version, and the next Lightning will be an extended range electric truck.
The wheels are still driven only by electric motors, but a gas engine on board works as a generator to keep the battery charged. Ford is estimating more than 700 miles of total range, the onboard power outlets stay, and it will be built at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn.
Does a setup like that make an electric F-150 more appealing to you?
