Trans Fluid Coming Out Of The Dipstick

I have a 1990 F150 2WD 5.0L V8, When I tow my boat which weighs about 1700lbs trans fluid is forced out of the dipstick tube, I tow using drive not OD. I do not think it is overfull but it looks like the bottom of the dipstick has been cut off. Other than that it shifts fine. Any ideas?

It may be overfull. When I did that to mine, the fluid came out and began smoking when it hit the exhaust manifolds. Let the oil out until it is normal, get a new dipstick first. While you're down there, replace your tanny pan gasket and filter.
