hey guys.... im very much into these 73-79 trucks, and i would love to hear what engine your running, engine mods (cam, crank, heads, comp ratio, carb size) everything...... how much power your making and why you picked your engine..... i myself am a strong believer in the 351/400m blocks in these trucks, though i have nothing against the other engines....

'79 F150, 460 EFI, 4x4, Heads ported by RHP, using an RHP custom cam based on the CompCams 256EX (matching hardware and springs), makes a little over 250 HP and 348lb-ft at the rear wheels....

Motor is a D9TE-AB block ('79 truck) set to 10.303" (-0.019") deck height Pistons set to -.003' deck clearence) and bored +.040, Stock Rods beefed up with ARP Wave-Loc bolts (overkill I'm thinking now), Keith Black KB206 Pistons, D3VE-A2A EMISSIONS heads done by RHP & milled to 92cc, Harland-Sharpe roller rockers, Edlebrock Water pump, stock crank, factory exhaust manifolds (looking for headers though), EFI built on Edlebrock TorkerII by Momar injection. Custom exhaust with 2.5" pipes Yed into a single high flow 3" CAT and MagnaFlow muffler, MSD Billit dist. set for 14 initial and 40 total timing. Stock C6 but looking at an E4OD conversion... Roughly 9.1:1 static & 8.7:1 dynamic compressions

I was running a CC 268H cam with all this - the RHP heads, made about the same HP but the torque curve wasn't as broad as it is now (-10% from 2100 - 4275), before I blew it up....

Kicks A$$, Sucks Gas - gets a whopping 8mpg but it climds to 14,110' without getting sick, and will run the same with 1200lbs of camper and 800lbs of motorcycle in tow, and "she'll make .7 past light speed..." ;)
