beginning with the resto-mod

Just picked up a 79 f-350 custom for 1700 bux. not a bad deal and its in pretty good shape for a barn find.

so to sum up the project. restore chassis. whats some good paints that will hold up against sum mud. gunna blast it all down then undercoat.

ohh and a 3 in body lift is on the way so the 44s quit rubbin lol

next after winter. paint

blackkkk. not sure if im gunna leave the chrome or have it powder coated a glossy black (bumpers, headlight trim, and so forth.

and after that. of course. the cummins swap along with a custom interior and fiberglass dash with custom gauges and switches.

suggestions and ideas wanted

Thats a stock suspension f350 powerstroke on the end. 7in lifted dodge with some 33s i beieve. and my new baby

thanks. she needs alot and alot of work. but she will get there eventually. going to tear her apart piece by piece then restore her from the ground up.
then once thats done fix up the motor and sell it and the trans and then mod in a 99 f350 dash and steering colum. then once thats all done. cummins power time

started tearin her down. slow proccess when you have minimal time.
lots of rust towards behind the cab till the bumper. ill post up some pics tomorrow if i have time.

got some most of the front end appart. its gunna take me and a few hundred people to get that damn box off lol it weights about a trillion pounds

but gunna take it down to the frame and sand blast her then undercoat the hell out of it. hopefully i can have her back to lookin like a truck by the end of the month

Well for some one that has little to no free time that will be amazing. i have
yet to start on mine. probably will not get started till next week. The cold is
coming. im going to freeze working on this thing.

Well got some of the tear down in over the past few days. didnt get the damn box off today like i wanted to. gunna need to grind or torch some of the rear bolts off. have to run over to my parents house and get my dads torches in a few days.
but i got some of the front end assembily done. interior is all out except for the dash and steering. lights are all out. and the tailgate is off.

I cant wait to start sand blasting the frame. I will feel much better about the project Once all the rust is gone

so i got the truck running today...the seller failed to tell me that the motor is fucking done for :/ he said it just needed the solenoid. yah its fried. theres gas leaking into the oil pan and the piston rings are fried. the whole motor needs a rebuild. im kinda pissed. i wanted to drive it around with the gas motor this winter before i put the cummins in it. ughh. well at least i can scrap some of the motor and the tranny for some extra cash. and i get my insurace check from my motorcycle accident on monday hopefully. maybe if i can find a cheap 460 or 429 ill drop it in for a while. ohh well. nothing a few beers and a pack of cigarettes cant fix right lol

thats horrible. i got mine home yesterday. my f-150 400 turned in to a 351M 351 CID NOT 400 CID.
wrong radiator from what i have searched. NO shroud. flexlight fan. tons of little things all wrong.
a lot of back yard engineering going on. i have a head ache just looking at it.

yah i bet i can top that. mine is jerry rigged like no other. they chopped the rear of the frame off to fit on a 76 box.
the whole exhaust is held on by metal strips.

ohh and the really nice one. they decided instead of finding a real solution to the 4x4 shaft hitting the trans crossmember. they just notched it!!!! wtf. are ppl srsly retarded. which u can all see in the pix above

truck it might be cheaper to buy another one.

Also what would you rather say. yah i bought this truck and now i drive it. or would you say yah i built this truck from the ground up!

Baby steps... I wish I wish I had more free time to tear her down. she would be being blasted by now.

that motor looks like its nice. To bad its blown to the damn wall and back.

Gunna get the box off tomorrow. most of the bolts are rusted on. liquid wrench and pb blaster wouldnt even loosen the up. so looks like its the grinder for them.
pry just gunna cut the tail light pigtails too and buy new ones. there like 25 bux for all new pigtails all around.

Might cut out the hole for the single stack while the box is out too. who knows. its all about time.
