91 f250 300 6 exhaust smell

Hi Guys I have a 91 f250 300 6 that smells like exhaust so bad in the cab i cant drive it, how do you check codes or does anyone have any ideals, Thanks,

sound like you have a hole in your floor or firewall and your exhaust, to check codes you can either buy a eec-IV diagnostic code reader or jump to wires in your self check plugs under the hood.( located on the driver side fender )



if you do that then you can do the KOEO test and count the flashes of the check engine light in the cab. there are two lengths of pauses short pauses in flashing indicates the end of a number and a longer pause indicates the end of the stored code.

for example
----- --- ------, this would be the code 536, - ----- --- ----, this would be 15 and 34, it takes some practice and I would recommend pulling the codes more than once to ensure you have not miscounted.

the meaning of your diagnostic codes can be found in a service manual for your vehicle.
