I just bought my favorite year Ford truck. It is a 1979 F100 with a 302 and 66,000 original miles on it. The previous owner broke the 3 speed shifter off the column and put it on the floor. It is major sloppy and hard to get into second gear while running. Shifts easy when sitting still.
Debating on whether to get a Hurst truck shifter for it or whether to put a 4 speed transmission from a 1977 F150 with a 302. Not sure the length difference as far as the drive shaft goes for one. Also, maybe I can just adjust??? something to make it shift easier. Never had a 3 speed on the floor before.... :blink:
