1966 f100 Custom Cab Gas Tank

I need to replace my gas tank. We have found one from a '76 that looks the same, but is it too wide?

is it in the cab!? if yes where did you find it? I have a 76 F250 with the tank in the cab and can not find atank for it period. my tank has rust in it!! so it wont run because the lines are clogging
